The actor was last seen playing a Sri Lankan Tamilian in Mani Ratnam’s ‘Chekka Chivantha Vaanam’.
This is undeniably the most exciting phase in Aishwarya Rajesh’s career. Recently seen playing a Sri Lankan Tamilian in Mani Ratnam’s Chekka Chivantha Vaanam, it’s not an exaggeration to admit that Aishwarya has the most interesting lineup of projects currently in her kitty. As she awaits the release of Vetrimaaran’s Vada Chennai, in which she has shared screen space for the first time with Dhanush, it’s worth mentioning that she also has Kanna, in which she’s played a cricketer and Gautham Menon’s Dhruva Natchathiram in the pipeline. The latest news is that she is all set to make her Telugu debut opposite Tollywood’s current sensation Vijay Deverakonda. The yet-untitled project will be directed by Kranthi Madhav and will also star Raashi Khanna.
Speaking to Times of India, Aishwarya said: “I have been getting offers on and off in the Telugu industry, but I was waiting for the right script to come by. When this team approached me with a role, I was quite kicked. Although I’m not allowed to reveal too many details about the film, all I can say is that it’ll be an unconventional role. It is definitely not a run-of-the-mill character. I have a strong role and of course, plenty of space to act. The film will go on the floors later this month.” She added that she will begin shooting for her portion from January next year.
Aishwarya is not new to Telugu language as her late father Rajesh had starred in a few Telugu films. Her aunt Sri Lakshmi is a popular Telugu comedienne and character artist. Aishwarya is currently shooting for Aramm director Gopi Nainar’s next project, which also stars Jai.
In a recent chat with TNM, she said: “Gopi was adamant on having me in this project. It’s a film that addresses a very important issue in our society. I’ve got a very strong character and you could actually call this a woman-centric film.”
