This will be the first time a film starring Allu Arjun will be dubbed in Tamil and released simultaneously along with its Telugu version.
Allu Arjun is a well-known Telugu star. Over the years, he earned a strong fan base in Kerala by dubbing his films in Malayalam. Now, he hopes to repeat the magic with Tamil audiences as his upcoming Telugu release Naa Peru Surya, slated to hit the screens on May 4, will be dubbed and released in Tamil as En Peru Surya on the same day.
This will be the first time a film starring Allu Arjun will be dubbed in Tamil and released simultaneously along with its Telugu version. Speaking at a press meet earlier this week in Chennai, the film’s producer L Sridhar said that they had originally planned to release Naa Peru Surya as a bilingual.
“The plan was to release the film as a bilingual. Unfortunately, we couldn’t go ahead with the plan due to the recent strike in Telugu filmdom. With actors like Sarath Kumar, Arjun and Nadiya playing pivotal roles in the film, we wanted to release it as a straight film in Tamil as well. Nevertheless, I’m sure audiences won’t see this as a dubbed film because of its patriotic theme. It’s a national film,” Sridhar said, adding that Arjun has delivered his career best’s performance in the movie.
The film, directed by Vakkantham Vamsi, features Sarath Kumar in a negative role. Arjun will be seen playing a military man with anger issues. At the film’s audio launch, Arjun said he’s proud to have done this film and he thanked director Vamsi for the opportunity. “The hero has one main goal in the film. He wants to serve in the Indian Army. I really liked the thought of playing a character ready to dedicate his life to the society and his country. My respect towards the military grew manifold, thanks to the experience of working in this project. I’d like to thank the Indian Army for supporting us in this journey of making the film.”
