The Zenfone 5Z boasts of the Snapdragon 845 chip along with 6GB of RAM and Android Oreo 8.0.
At the MWC earlier this year, ASUS announced its flagship offering for the global markets. Called the Zenfone 5Z, the smartphone became one of the first ones in the Android universe to sport the controversial notched-display design and feature the Snapdragon 845 chip. ASUS has since then launched it only in few foreign markets and is planning to bring it to the Indian shores pretty soon.
ASUS is holding a launch event for a new device tomorrow at 8:45 pm, the proceedings of which will be broadcasted online, as suggested by a teaser on Flipkart. It doesn’t take to be a scientist to decipher the fact that ASUS could be bringing the Zenfone 5Z to India, after its recent launch in France and Japan. The teaser weirdly reveals an odd unveiling time of 8:45 pm, which is a clear indication of the device sporting the flagship Snapdragon 845 chip. The teaser also showcases the wallpaper first seen on the official renders of the Zenfone 5Z.
The Zenfone 5Z is a true flagship smartphone in every sense, judging by the specifications sheet. Apart from the Snapdragon 845 chipset, the phone boasts of 6GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage, bringing it up with the likes of the latest flagship Android smartphones in the market. It features a 6.2-inch IPS LCD display with a ratio of 19:9 — thanks to the notch. The 5Z runs on ZenUI 5.0 based on top of Android 8.0 Oreo. The rear optics are taken care by a 12MP + 8MP dual sensor setup whereas the 8MP front camera is there to take care of the selfies. The phone is kept alive by a 3300mAh battery. The ZenFone 5Z also comes with dual speakers, Hi-Fi audio, and DTS Headphone X.
Considering the average global pricing, ASUS could be pricing it competitively against the recently launched OnePlus 6 and the Honor 10.
