Superstar Rajinikanth, who is currently shooting for his upcoming film with filmmaker Karthik Subbaraj, must be on cloud nine because of the performance of his recently-released film Kaala.
Kaala, directed by Pa Ranjith, spoke about the importance of land laws and inequality.
According to reports, Kaala has raked in a massive amount of money over its first weekend at the box office. The latest update suggests that the film has marched to the Rs 100-crore club (worldwide collection) within just four days of its release.
Trade analysts reveal that the positive word of mouth has helped Kaala during the weekend. In Chennai, the film has collected over Rs 6.64 crore in four days. In addition to that, the film is going strong in the US and Australia.
Even before the film’s release, Kaala has already done great business by raking in Rs 230 crore with satellite and music rights.
The political-drama stars Huma Qureshi, Nana Patekar, Anjali Patil and Eswari Rao in pivotal roles, apart from Rajinikanth as the eponymous slum lord.
