Samsung Galaxy On6 with Infinity Display, Face Unlock feature launched in India – A Flipkart exclusive

Samsung has been in the rumour mill for some time now. The company is all set to launch the new Galaxy Note 9 model on August 9. Apart from that, the South Korean giant is expected to launch its latest mid-range smartphone Galaxy On6 in India today. If reports are to be believed, the smartphone launching today will be labelled as Samsung Galaxy On6. It will go on sale exclusively via Flipkart starting midnight of July 5.


Buyers can avail no cost EMI starting at Rs 1,610 per month, and complete mobile protection plan from Flipkart priced at Rs 99 per year. Besides the Infinity Display, the new Samsung smartphone also brings Chat over Video feature that works when watching videos on stock app or on YouTube. When you get a text or WhatsApp message while watching a video, you can continue video playback, and a translucent overlay appears, allowing you to reply without minimizing the video screen.

Samsung Galaxy On6 specifications and features

The Galaxy On6 comes with a 5.6-inch HD+ super AMOLED display that runs at an aspect ratio of 18.5:9. It is powered by an Exynos 7870 octa-core SoC paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB onboard storage. A microSD card slot with support up to 256GB card is also present.


In the photography department, you get a13-megapixel rear snapper of f/1.9 aperture, LED flash, and an 8-megapixel front camera of aperture f/1.9 with LED flash. Samsung has also added AI-based selfie focus feature that allows you to add DSLR-like bokeh effects to your selfies without the dual camera setup. The camera app also comes with support for live stickers, stamps and filters.

Armed with a 3,000mAh battery, connectivity options on the smartphone include dual SIM card slots, 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and GPS. On the software front, it runs on Android 8.0 Oreo OS with Samsung Experience UI on top. And besides face unlock feature, you also get a fingerprint sensor at the back for biometric authentication.
