Vijay Devarakonda, who has delivered hit movies like Pelli Choopulu, Arjun Reddy and Geetha Govindam, has come up with supernatural thriller drama Taxiwaala to impress his fans and movie lovers. The movie, directed by Rahul Sankrityan and produced by Geetha Arts and UV Creations, has hit the theaters today. Priyanka Jwalkar and Malavika Nair are playing the female lead roles. Shiva (Vijay Devarakonda) is young educated guy who is in the search of a job. He meets Babai (Madhunandan) who runs a car garage. Later he buys an old car and use it as a cab He become a cab driver. Shiva comes in the contact of Anusha (Priyanka Jawalkar) and falls for her. Soon he comes to know that his car is possessed by a ghost. Is Shiva’s car is really possessed by a ghost? What is the story behind it? How Shiva Kumar will get out from all the mesh? To get these answers, one should watch the movie on silver screen.
One of the major highlight of Taxiwaala is the performance of Vijay Devarakonda. The actor looks handsome in the role of Taxi driver. He steals the show with his powerful screen presence. He has portrayed his character in a superb way. Malavika Nair and Priyanka Jawalkar look good on the screens. Madhu and the other guy in the role of Vijay Devarakonda’s friend evoke decent comedy in Taxiwaala. Yamuna, who played a cameo is fine. Uttej, Ravi Prakash and other actors justify with their roles.
The concept and Storyline of the film is very interesting. Screenplay is good. Jakes Bejoy’s music is in tune with the proceedings. Background score is impressive. Cinematographer Sujith Sarang did a fabulous job in setting the right mood for this supernatural thriller entertainer. He has done a fantastic job. Editing is ok. Production values are top notch. Art direction is first-rate.
The main plus points of Taxiwaala are concept, screenplay, art direction, cinematography, BGM, Sound design and the performances of Vijay Devarakonda. The first half is engaging whereas the second part has dull moment because of the serious scenes. The science fiction element, which are very similar to Hollywood movies, impressed everyone. The director Rahul came up with a horror comedy movie with science fiction element and narrated it in an interesting manner.
Verdict – Watch it with low expectations as the film will not disappoint you and ends as a breezy watch this weekend.
