Turner International India is all set to launch its second high definition (HD) and its first in the kids genre. The media network will launch Cartoon Network HD+ on 15 April.
The channel will be available on direct to home (DTH) platform Sun Direct and cable TV platform GTPL on channel no 969 and 172 respectively. It will be rolled out on other DTH and cable TV platforms respectively.
“Turner India is testing signals for the soft launch of Cartoon Network HD+ starting April 15, 2018, for a phased roll out over the next few weeks,” a Turner India spokesperson said.
The brand new channel will offer original animated programming from Cartoon Network including ‘Adventure Time’, ‘The Amazing World of Gumball’, ‘We Bare Bears’ and some brand new exclusive shows.
In September 2016, Turner had launched HBO HD by rebranding its erstwhile HBO Hits channel. Turner’s India portfolio includes CNN International, Cartoon Network, POGO, Toonami, HBO, and WB.
The broadcaster had recently cut distribution ties with ZEEL to appoint IndiaCast Media Distribution as its exclusive distribution agent.
